Special Working Hours
Hong Kong Counter services will have special arrangements during adverse weather. Details of office closure and reopening are as follows:
Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 or higher and Extreme Conditions*
In effect during working hours
08:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
| Cancelled before or at 09:00 a.m. | Cancelled after 09:00 a.m. |
| Counter office will be CLOSED 1 hour before issuance of the Typhoon Signal in accordance with the Pre-No 8 Special Announcement or CLOSED immediately when the Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted, whichever is earlier. | Counter office will re-open two hours after cancellation of warning (Conditions permitting) | Counter office remains closed for the day

Issued during working hours

*Extreme Conditions - the Government may issue an "extreme conditions" announcement before Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8 (T8) is replaced with No. 3 (T3). "Extreme conditions" may include serious disruption of public transport services, extensive flooding, major landslides or large-scale power outage occurring after a super typhoon.
