Notice to Shippers
Transshipments at Port Klang-
First 6 Digits of Customs Harmonized Code
Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you that Port Klang Authority has announced a new transshipment regulation (No. 12dlm.KP.04-2.2Jld.4), effective from 1 April 2009 that the first 6 digits of Customs Harmonized Code must be provided for transshipments at Port Klang, Malaysia. Other ports in Malaysia are not affected.
For smooth compliance, from 1 April 2009 onwards, we would like to seek for your cooperation to submit the first 6 digits of Customs Harmonized Code when placing bookings/ SI submission if transshipments at Port Klang are involved.
In case of non-compliance, cargos may be subjected to additional inspections, delays for loading and penalties might be imposed.
