New Regulation– Wood Packaging Material
Imports from China to Canada
Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced an import regulation with effect from 1 September 2009 for wood packaging materials from China.
Starting from 1 September 2009 onwards, all wood packaging materials importing from China to Canada must be certified with a valid International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) mark before entering Canada. Phytosanitary certificates for wood packaging material from China in lieu of the IPCC wood packaging marking will no longer be accepted, any incompliance may result in refusal of entry.
