ANNOUNCEMENT

Change of Consignee Name for Jeddah Shipment


Dear Customers,         

A circular was issued from the Customs Authority of Jeddah to ALL shipping agents NOT to change or transfer name on the Bill of Lading or manifest WITHOUT the consent from the Jeddah Customs Department effective 6 April 2010.

If shipper would like to change the consignee on the Bill of Lading, approval should be obtained from Jeddah Customs Department or the consignee's agent can approach the customs department for approval directly. If Bill of Lading consignee is updated without consent from the customs, container can be discharged in the name of the original party on document but subject to customs fine of SR 500.
