Traffic Restrictions during
Universiade Shenzhen 2011

Dear Valued Customers,

The Universiade 2011, will be held in Shenzhen from 12–23 August 2011. There will have some traffic restrictions to be enforced on the days during Universiade Shenzhen 2011 as below :

Roads Restrictions
Vehicles with Yellow Eco-Label are not allowed to transit within Shenzhen administrative area from 0700 hours to 2000 hours on 1 July to 31 August. This restriction will extend to whole day during the opening and closing ceremonies on 12 August and 23 August respectively.

Odd-even Number Restriction
The city will implement an odd-even number restriction of vehicles which covers three areas: Shenzhen Downtown, Baoan and Longgang area; and five main roads: Shuiguan Highway, Qingping Highway, Baoan Road, Yanba Highway and Pingxi Road. This restriction may be in effect from 0700 hours to 2000 hours on 4 to 24 August.

Restrictions for vehicles without Green Eco-Labels
Vehicles without a Green Eco-Label are not allowed to transit within Shenzhen administrative area everyday from 0700 hours to 2000 hours on 1 July to 31 August. This restriction will extend to 2400 hours during the opening and closing ceremonies on 12 August and 23 August respectively. The main areas and roads of restriction are the central business districts, residential areas and the Universiade area.

Road Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Water-traffic Restriction
Containers loaded with dangerous goods (DG) are restricted from road transportation, which are subject to the approval from the Transportation Authority and must be transported according to the designated routes. Restrictions will be enforced from 0700 hours to 2000 hours from 4 to 24 August.

From 1 to 23 August, vessels carrying liquid gas, shipments defined as toxic liquid substances in category X and as high-viscosity substances in category Y by MARPOL 73/78 Annex II and flammable liquid shipments with closed-cup flash point below 23 Celsius are not allowed to enter or depart at night. Vessels carrying class1, 6.2 & 7 hazardous shipments are not allowed to load and unload or transit in Shenzhen ports.

Since the traffic restrictions will cause certain affect to the freight transport, in order not to delay your cargo plan, please make appropriate arrangement in advance. In particular, please place trucking order to us at your earliest convenience if you need OOCL to arrange trucking haulage service.
