Equipment Interchange Receipt (EIR) in Shenzhen 

Dear Customer,

To streamline the Equipment Interchange Receipt (EIR) process, effective Jan 1, 2013, we will put the EIR fee (Equipment Interchange Receipt) on the Bill of Lading for both outbound/ inbound shipment in lieu of collection at our depot and/or our appointed agent. The EIR fee has to be shown on the Bill of Lading and to be charged on a prepaid basis prior to release of outbound Bill of Lading. For inbound shipment, the EIR fee will be shown on the Arrival Notice and to be collected prior to cargo release. The quantum of the EIR fee, currently at RMB35 per container would remain unchanged and would be applied for laden container with first port of loading/ final port of discharge at Shenzhen terminals.

With effect from Jan 1,2013, our depot and/or appointed agent who used to collect the EIR fee on behalf of OOCL, shall cease the collection of EIR fee.
