Hong Kong Seaport Alliance Implementation in Hong Kong
Dear Customers,
Reference to
announcement issued by Modern Terminals its regarding formation of Hong Kong
Seaport Alliance (hereinafter “HKSPA”) and its commencement
of initial
implementation from 1 April 2019.
The alliance
consists of four terminal operators including Hongkong International Terminals,
Modern Terminals Limited, COSCO-HIT terminals (Hong Kong) Limited, and Asia
Container Terminals Limited. Total 23 berths of members of HKSPA are divided
into three zones with aim to provide greater efficiency to shipping alliances
and individual carriers. From Apr onwards, rearrangement of berthing location
has been taking place for numerous services among shipping alliances.
To ensure smooth
transportation and logistics arrangement, we strongly recommend your good
company and your contracted transportation company to make good use of the
mobile apps “HKiPort” and check the most updated and correct vessel berth
location before going to terminals for container delivery and/or pick-up and
preparing permit for dutiable cargo in accordance with the Dutiable Commodities
Ordinance.
