Mumbai's Monsoon - latest update
Please note that train service to/from North India has resumed and it will take a few days to return to 100% operational efficiency to clear the backlog accumulated. There could be a potential delay for Inbound delivery to North India.Gates at NSICT are open for limited time and terminal has shut the gate unilaterally in few instances as a result of the pendency that has built up. This has also affected the Outbound loading for most services. We are monitoring the situation closely to minimise any impacts to our service integrity.

Mumbai's Monsoon update:-
Bad weather and the annual monsoon in the Arabian Sea has resulted in heavy rain falls over Western India in the last few days. Mumbai has witnessed incessant rains since 30th June 2007, which disrupted road, rail and air traffic. The local trains are running behind schedule and road traffic was congested due to flooding in various place. MET Dept forecast heavy rains in the next 24 hours.

Rail haulage from North India to/from Pipavav and Nhava Sheva is also temporary suspended due to the flooding. This temporary suspension is likely to last for few days and some delay is expected for cargo to/from New Delhi and ICD locations.

Weather at Nhava Sheva terminal:-
Terminal operation is also disrupted and productivity is down to 16-18 moves per hour and intermittent stoppage due to strong winds. Many vessels are forced to cut and run resulting in high pendency and delay on berthing . The pendency at NSICT where all our services are calling has reached 18000 teus against a normal working capacity of 12000 teus.

This is the update as of now.
