Update on the “Go Slow” at GTI terminal in Nhava Sheva
Local News
A Go Slow started at the GTI terminal Nhava Sheva on 29th June early morning by the transporters. This affected the GTI`s productivity badly and the terminal could only perform 10-12 moves an hour. There is no news of operations being affected at JNPT and NSICT terminals.
As of this morning we have got news that two of the transporters operating inside the terminal has stopped work and it is now being run by only one single Transporter (CASBY) having only 40 vehicles. They too shall be joining the strike and thus may hamper the vessel operations and imports would have to be probably short landed and over carried.
The following vessels were affected –

CIX service - APL IRIS v/175E
The vessel arrived 24hours after her window due to delays at Colombo port and finally berth @ GTI on 30/June-0430. She was forced to vacate the berth on completion of her allocated window time & finally sailed Nhava on 30June-1800hrs. She only managed to discharge 860 boxes out of 1415. 555 import boxes were over carried (out of which 167 were OOCL`s). The vessel could not load any exports and sailed for Pipavav.
Total exports shut out - 558teus a/c OOCL.

CIX3 service – OOCL KOBE v/051E
Vessel berth @ 30/June-1645hrs.
Total vessel import 1505 moves / 140 moves balance as of 1540 hrs today. Her window ends at 1600hrs today and she will be forced to sail out. She would also most likely not be able to load any exports as she may just about complete her imports. We have however requested the terminal to try and at least load reefers, onion shipments and a few of the TPT FOB cargoes like Wal-Mart for USWC. Her next port of call is Pipavav.
Total booking for the vessel is 751.5teus a/c OOCL.

Will keep all informed of the situation at regular intervals till such time the terminal is back to normal.
