Our Irish Feeder Service (SIX) has been enhanced to provide a call in Rotterdam. To enable this, the regular Greenock call has been dropped.
Two vessels now operate on this route in a butterfly rotation, namely the Conelbe and the Euphoria.

The FEFC has made the following announcement regarding imports into UK ports. Please be advised that OOCL will apply the new surcharge to all shipments with ‘Onboard Date’ (rather than container discharge date) of 1st December 2007 onwards.

We would like to inform our customers of an oversight contained in the 3rd December 2007 website announcement regarding the increase in UK Inland Fuel Surcharge rates.
Contrary to the website announcement (and in line with our email-distributed notice), please be guided that the increase from 8.8% to 12% will apply only to carrier haulage within the UK (inc. Northern Ireland) and not the Republic of Ireland.

On the morning of Friday 31st August, the Southampton Container Terminal Operations database experienced a corruption of its core data; caused by a failed system update. The disruptions to the database caused incorrect moves from their straddle carriers, which tried to retreive containers that were not present or were incorrect.

Southampton Container Terminal has today issued an urgent announcement regarding the impending August bank holiday.
With effect from Monday 20th August 2007, the current 7 day export receivable window for laden export containers will be reduced to a 5 day window for all customers. Accordingly, from midnight on Sunday 19th August 2007, the terminal will not accept any laden export containers which are not due to be shipped on a vessel due alongside the ship within 5 days (including weekends).

We wish to advise shippers to and from Northern Ireland that a revised haulage tariff will become effective on 3rd September 2007. This will cover imports and exports for all trades, and will apply unless rates have previously been fixed in Service Contracts or Rate Agreements.

OOCL is actively participating in industry discussions to facilitate the introduction and practical management of the new EU Green List Regulations, which came into effect on July 12th.
Whilst these continue, shippers of scrap metal, waste paper or plastic and other products covered by the new rules are asked to confirm in writing, in the form of a Letter of Intent, their acceptance of OOCL’s Waste Product Booking Conditions.

As you may be aware, SCT UK Ltd have ordered two gantry cranes for delivery in the first half of next year. These gantry cranes will have an outreach of 22 containers wide, thus ensuring the terminal is able to handle the latest and future generation of containerships.

We are pleased to announce that on the 16th of April, OOCL and X-Press Container Lines entered into an agreement to operate the M/S Euphoria linking the ports of Southampton (Tue/Wed), Dublin (Fri), Belfast (Sat), Greenock (Sun) and returning to Southampton (Tue/Wed).
This follows a successful two month trial period and will ensure cargo in and out of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Western Scotland are connected in a timely and orderly manner to our deep-sea network.
