* High Possible Strike in Korea

With diesel price skyrocket, KCTWU (Korea Carg Transport Worker’s Union) officially announced that they will go on nationwide strike starting from Jun.16, 2008.
But many truckers already stopped service for those non-profit route.

Government announced economic stabilization plan that government will give rebate 50% of diesel cost surpassing KRW1,800 at the end of year.
But KCTWU are expressing strong dissatisfaction with the temporary relief package which is still behind KCTWU's demand.
Anyway, they will keep negotiation with government to reach an agreement until walkout date, Jun.16.
However chance of peaceful and satisfactory solution seems to be very slim at the moment.
Accordingly, it looks obvious we would face service failure for local transportation and some inter terminal TS cargo.

To ease disruptions in goods deliveries from the sit-in by the KCTWU, the government is expected to permit the use of military container trucks, cargo vehicles not          registered under the KCTWU and delivery cars.
Other counter plans are likely to include setting up makeshift facilities at Busan to facilitate the transport of accumulating containers.
Also it includes preventing protestors from obstructing the passage of vehicles at busy tollgates and piers.

We foresee impact for both Inbound and Outbound cargo operation will be affected.
We’re mapping out necessary contingency plan to minimize any inconvenience for our customers.
