Demurrage & Detention Free Time and Charges

Definition of Key Terms
​Free Time​“Free Time” is the period that the Carrier offers as free of charge for Demurrage, Detention and/or Demurrage & Detention (DD2in1), if applicable.
​Storage​“Storage'' charge for utilizing the port, terminal or depot facilities beyond free time, incurred in relation to both Containers supplied by the Carrier and by the Merchant.
Detention​Charge payable when the Merchant holds Carrier's container outside the port, terminal or depot beyond free time.
​Demurrage​Charge payable when the Merchant holds Carrier’s Container inside the terminal, port or depot beyond free time.
​Demurrage & Detention (DD2in1)​Charge payable when the Merchant holds Carrier’s Container beyond free time for the combined period of inside and outside the terminal, port or depot.
​Tariff Applicable ​​For Import Shipments, DD2in1 shall commence at 00:00am on the same day of vessel arrival and end at 23:59pm on the same day of container's empty return to carrier's designated facility.
​For Export Shipments, DD2in1 shall commence at 00:00am on the same day of empty gate out and end at 23:59pm on the same day as container loaded.

Notes:

  • Unless otherwise specified, port storage and reefer monitoring for cargo in Oman will be assessed per local terminal tariff.
