Requirements for the shipping of Dangerous Goods.

We would like to ask your attention once more regarding the regulations for the shipments of dangerous goods. As you know, Hazmat started stricter and more frequent inspections.
Furthermore, the American and Canadian authorities have very high and strict extra requirements when it comes to shipping dangerous goods.

In both cases, the quality of the accompanying documents is under severe scrutiny and being criticized by the authorities.Unfortunately, we notice that many DGD’s are not conform the requirements at all.To avoid problems with the American and Canadian authorities, we have once more listed all the required fields on a DGD in a separate document which you will find below as a downloadable file.

We will ask to correct and complete any documents that does not comply with the requirements as listed in the document. As long as the documents do not meet the expectations, we will hold the container from being loaded on the sea-going vessel.

It is self-evident that for other destinations, documents and containers have to be conform the IMDG-code guidelines as well, this in order to avoid problems with Hazmat (Belgian regulations).

If required, you can click on the hyperlinks for more information in the remainder of the document.

If you are still not sure with this information or need more help, you can always contact us. We are also willing to invite you to our offices to run through all this.
