Update on potential Strike in the US ports + Booking Cancellation Fee

Dear Customer,

 

We would like to briefly update you on the current state of negotiations between the ILA Union and the USMX (employers organization), and as you can read from below news clippings the near term outlook is not positive and we are most likely heading to a nationwide strike in the US, impacting the US East Coast and Gulf Ports. 

This will be taking effect then the 29th of December.

Depending on the final US destination OOCL can possibly offer you an alternative gateway via the port of Montreal, our Mexican ports or the USWC ports of Los Angeles and Oakland.    

 

At the same time, we would like to advise you that we will implement an booking cancellation fee for all export cargo ex Europe to Canada Mexico, details as follows :

 

In the event of exceptional demand caused by work action at U.S. ports, a Booking Cancellation Fee will be assessed as per below to all cancelled bookings to Canada/Mexico within 7 calendar days of Shipping Instruction cut-off on any given vessel:-

 

                1 container                         -              Usd 100/container

                2 – 5 containers                -              Usd 300/container

                6 containers and more   -              Usd 500/container
