Gulf of Aden Surcharge (GAS) - European Trade

OOCL wish to advise that effective 1st March 2009 a Gulf of Aden surcharge (GAS) will apply on all Outbound and Inbound containers to/from Europe.  The surcharge is to cover the extra expenses incurred in transiting the Gulf of Aden due to the ongoing piracy problem in the region.  This surcharge is to be paid by the freight payer.
