Metroport Rail Services

Port of Tauranga has advised OOCL that from 12th May 2024 train capacity ex Metroport to Tauranga will be reduced significantly. As such, OOCL will no longer be allocated weekly rail space from Auckland to Tauranga. Therefore, export cargo originating in Auckland will be directed to load on our vessels direct ex Port of Auckland.

The final services from Metroport to connect trunk vessels at Tauranga are as follows:
ANS - Contship Yen 055W eta 08/5
JKN – NYK Futago 093N eta 09/5
CNS – Kota Lumba 150N eta 14/5
NZS – CMA CGM Perth 774N eta 15/5

Our Bookings team will contact customers with current bookings affected by this change.

We can however also offer a sea feeder option ex Auckland to Tauranga to meet our JKN/CNS/NZS mainline vessels for time sensitive cargo. If you are interested in this option, please contact your sales executive for further details and cost.

OOCL will continue to work on solutions, so that, in the future, we may be in a position to re-introduce the Metroport option.

We thank you for your continued support and should you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact your sales executive to discuss further.

Yours faithfully,

OOCL (New Zealand) Ltd.
