Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd would like to announce that, effective October 6, 2010 (Ship on Board date), Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) shall be revised to USD75.00 per teu for all DRY/REEFER inbound cargo, originating from all Intra Asia, Australia and New Zealand except Japan(DRY) to the Philippines. The new quantum will now be USD75.00 per 20GP/20RF and USD150.00 per 40GP and HQ/40RQ.
The increase is necessary to address the widening container imbalance ratio between Import and Export and the associated costs related to reposition the boxes. This will enable us to continue providing quality and competitive services to service the Philippine trade.
As a destination surcharge, the Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) shall be settled by the local consignee, regardless if the trade term of the shipment is Prepaid or Collect.
