TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd would like to announce that, effective February 1, 2010 (Cargo arrival date), we will be implementing a Container Imbalance Surcharge (CIS) amounting to USD50.00 per 20RF and USD100.00 per 40RQ for all Inbound Reefer cargo, except from the USA and Canada, to the Philippines.
We will be applying this in order to partially recover the operational costs we incur, primarilly, but not limited to, the repositioning of the over supply of inbound Reefer containers as compared to our export requirements.
As a destination surcharge, the Container Imbalance Surcharge (CIS) shall be settled by the local consignee, regardless if the trade term of the shipment is Prepaid or Collect.
