Customer Advisory: Shipper's Name and Address in Electronic Bill of Lading Set as Mandatory Fields

Dear Customers:

With reference to the  memorandum issued by Philippines Bureau of Customs - Management Information System and Technology Group on March 07, 2011  stating the following:

The Assessment Group of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) uses the shipper's name and address as part of their reference and important data to be verified before giving clearance to process the release of shipment. The said data are checked against the commercial invoice/ packing list submitted to them together with other fields in the electronic bill of lading.

In view of this and in order to avoid delay in releasing the shipment, may we request you to set shipper's name and address in the electronic bill of lading as mandatory fields in your system. No transmission of electronic bill of lading to BOC e2m Manifest System without shipper's name and address by the shipping lines and de-consolidators should be allowed . end of quote

Please note none compliance would incur heavy  penalty.  Kindly remind your shippers to indicate their complete address upon submission of shipping instruction.

Thank you for your kind attention.
