OOCL and Long Beach Container Terminal, Inc. (LBCT) have received the International Business Association (IBA) International Achievement Award from the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented for OOCL and LBCT’s support of the international trade community in the Southern Californian region.
The IBA award presentation was one of the highlights for the Chamber during World Trade Week 2009, a nationally recognized celebration in the US for more than 80 years, with a strong focus on global trade.
The award was presented to Mr Bob Wallace, USA director of Southern California operations, OOCL, and Mr Anthony Otto, president of Long Beach Container Terminal.
Accepting the award on behalf of OOCL and LBCT, Mr Otto outlined the growing partnership both companies have had with the City of Long Beach, including projects to reduce emissions and enhance the lives of the citizens of the local community.
