Dear Valued Customers,
During the period of late October of 2011, the Grand Alliance (GA) will begin suspension of its JCX service, a 6-ships string with an overall average operational capacity of 3,617 TEUs, because of the reduced demand expected in the winter slack season.
The commencement date for the product changes will be finalized in due course. The GA members will continue to closely monitor market conditions and make a final decision in accordance to market factors.
All JCX port pairs will be retained within other GA products and the following adjustments can ensure that the GA members can continue to offer the broadest possible service to the shipping public:
• An eighth vessel will be added to expand the SCX service to cover the Japan market that was previously served by the JCX service.
• A sixth vessel will be added to the CCX service to include a port call in Qingdao that was previously served by the JCX service.
• The SCX service will drop its eastbound call in Kaohsiung but this port call will be added to the SSX service.
