Donation to the French National Lifeboat Association

On October 28, OOCL France presented a small donation to the French National Lifeboat Association (Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer or “SNSM”) at Le Havre station. The SNSM is a major player involved in lifesaving around the French coasts and overseas.  The SNSM is principally funded by legacies and donations with all lifeboat crew members being unpaid volunteers. Financial resources come 80% from private generosity and 20% from public help.

The President of Le Havre Lifeboat station and Treasury expressed their gratitude and honoured us with a watercolour painting of an OOCL vessel by a local artist. Given that lifesaving at sea is obviously crucial in our industry, this was a very meaningful donation for OOCL.
