Going Green with H&M
OOCL Logistics has always been an eco-conscious company with a deeply ingrained sense of care about our world-wide communities. We pledge to achieve sustainable development and take every opportunity to give back to the communities we live in by taking part in activities that benefit people and society. One of these activities includes donating and recycling.
For the one-week period of between 16-25 June, OOCL Logistics (China) Limited participated in a garment collection program run by H&M, the famous international fashion brand, as well as our long-time valuable partner. In just 3 days, we collected more than 300 articles of clothing from our colleagues, and they were all delivered to H&M’s warehouse in Shanghai.

After the clothing was collected by H&M, they were passed to “I:Collect” a part of the SOEX group, a world leading Swiss solutions provider for the collection, reuse and recycling of used shoes and garments. The organization will reclassify the collected clothing into items that can be “re-wear as-is”, recycled or transformed into energy sources, using more than 400 different criteria based on the quality and condition of the textile.
Besides Green Week, OOCL Logistics participates in other green initiatives that have been part of our company culture since 2007, and this year will be no different. We will participate in different green activities held by different organizations. Every member of OOCL Logistics believes in doing the right thing and that even seemly small efforts, little by little, make the world a better place to live in!
