As a socially responsible company, OOCL is committed to giving back to the communities in which our colleagues live. We have long been involved in various volunteering programs, particularly on ones that are related to youth education.

The School-Company-Parent (SCP) Program, organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council (YDC), is a joint effort among companies, schools, and parents to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among young people in Hong Kong. More specifically, the program is aimed at helping secondary school students connect to the commercial world in order to acquire an entrepreneurial mindset and business skills prior to entering the workforce.

This is the first year that OOCL participates in this meaningful program. Not only does this program provide benefits for young students, it also gives our colleagues an opportunity to interact with the new generation. Three of our company ambassadors took care of a group of thirty Secondary Four students from Pentecostal School who have enrolled in this program.

From March through May this year, we have organized for the students six workshops including a visit to our office and a day of volunteer service.
