Giving Back & Supporting Education in Bangladesh

OOCL colleagues in Dhaka, Bangladesh through a charity organization called “Change the Lives” donated 50 schools bags to homeless children to support their education. The charity had previously arranged for these underprivileged children to attend a government-run primary school in Tongi by funding their additional expenses.

Although the government provides all books to primary students, many have to carry the books by hand as most could not afford to buy school bags. With this in mind, on December 5, 2015, OOCL visited the school and distributed the schoolbags to the children in need.  The young students were delighted to receive the very first school bags they’ve ever owned, and could not contain their excitement to try them on immediately.
