The floods in Thailand in 2011 were the worst in half a century. While around 40% of the country was badly affected, the floods have relentlessly affected Thai people as a whole.

Like those who have been affected in various provinces, many OOCL Thailand (OTL) staff who live in Bangkok have also suffered from this disaster. Thanks to the incredibly generous donations from our global OOCL family members, which was then matched exactly dollar by dollar by the company, we were able to provide relief not only to our 40 affected colleagues but also to other Thais who were suffering. We donated relief funds to iCare – a local charity organization that OTL has been working with for more than 15 years.

On January 11, 2011, Kenneth Chen, Managing Director of OTL presented a cheque to Michael Andreassen of iCare Thailand. A few days later we received a nice thank you letter from Michael. Click to read.
