Imperial Ice Stars in Swan Lake on Ice

Following the breathtaking performance of Sleeping Beauty on Ice in 1998, the Imperial Ice Stars return to Sydney to present audiences with a truly magnificent and unique theatrical extravaganza: Swan Lake on Ice. The Sydney season will be followed by an eight-city tour of Australia and New Zealand and 28-week tour of the UK as part of its year-long world tour.

The world’s leading theatrical ice skating company, The Imperial Ice Stars, feature ice skaters champion performers of Olympic, World, European and National Championship-caliber. This spectacular ice-skating cast has won over 200 competition medals among them. Guided by the renowned director Tony Mercer, The Imperial Ice Stars have won nightly standing ovations and are guaranteed to set pulses racing with their sublime acrobatic skills.

Swan Lake follows the timeless love story of Prince Siegfried, who falls in passionately in love with Odette, a woman transformed into a swan by an evil curse. Odette is destined to remain a strange double creature, until she is rescued from her spell by one man's undying love. Adding greater danger to Odette’s sad plight, the evil Rothbart and his daughter, the black swan Odile, stand in the way of her release from the curse.

Having captured the story of Swan Lake beautifully in their own interpretation, The Imperial Ice Stars will amaze audiences with all the thrills of Olympic level skating – breathtaking triple flips, awe-inspiring aerial gymnastics, double axels, death spirals, triple throw axels and spectacular high-speed lifts. Full of motion and brimming with fairy-tale enchantment, this world-class ice performance will delight viewers of all ages with endless twirls and spins on the glittering ice.

The Logistics

OOCL is proud to be the official ocean carrier of Swan Lake on Ice, moving the stage sets from the UK to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Wellington, Auckland, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra for performances from early June to September 2006.

In support of the tour, the supplies must to arrive at every destination on time – in keeping with showbiz motto: 'the show must go on'. OOCL has deployed three 40’ High Cube containers to carry the supplies, and uses its industry-leading IT to co-ordinate the entire cargo process.

The production team is personally updated at every stage of the transportation chain, ensuring every procedure is transparent and perfectly managed.
