Quebec Spring Thaw Restrictions - Intermodal & International
Dear customer,
The Quebec Ministry of Transport will implement the annual spring thaw weight restrictions in March 2010.
Effective March 1, 2010, CP terminal will not accept/in gate any overweight containers. Shipment weights must be reduced and evenly distributed in the unit in order to avoid possible charges and fines associated with overweight loads. CP will not accept responsibility for any such charges.
Overweight loads will be returned to the Shipper at their own expense.

The cargo weight and gross shipment weight restrictions apply on Quebec Province highways and also on all rail road movement to/ from CP terminal (as used by OOCL) via the Montreal gateway.
Additional information on this subject is available on Transport Quebec web site
Additional information regarding any applicable charges can be found in our Intermodal Supplemental Services Tariff 3.
Kindly ensure that all your containers to be moved on the Quebec Province highways comply with these regulations.
