Transshipment Restrictions 

  • Prior agreement from the port customs and maritime administration are compulsory. 

Dangerous Cargo Restrictions 

  • Dangerous goods must be covered by a separate manifest for authorities’ use. The Dangerous goods manifest must bear a clear description of merchandise, exact number of packages, exact weight (Gross and net weights), IMO Class, UNO page, receiver’s name and address. Explosives and radioactive materials are not accepted. Hazardous cargo cannot be discharged on pier even on temporary basis; they must be discharged from board to truck and withdrawn immediately. Before booking any IMO cargo, agent at port of loading should require for green light from CMC, in order for CMC to get necessary guarantees from consignee for immediate on-truck withdraw of container upon vessel’s arrival. When booking and shipment have been performed, CMC shall be given details of shipment for coordination and smooth delivery. Another green light is necessary from CMC side prior loading the IMO container on the feeder vessel from Valence to Rades port.

Customs Requirements

  • Local receiver must be clearly identified (Full name, address, e-mail, Tel, Fax) on the B/L.
  • Modification of cargo description, consignee’s name, weight, container number/seal, etc is allowed only before vessel’s departure from Valence (transshipment port).
  • Special Cargo: Tobaccos, beverages and diplomatic goods are considered as special cargos and must be declared independently. Authorities must be advised well before vessel’s arrival.
