Import Empty Container Drop-Off Surcharge in UK  

Customers are advised that we will be introducing a new Import Drop-Off surcharge to be applied when using a non-standard empty return depot in the UK.  

When the empty container is not returned into an OOCL stack at the Port of Discharge, an import drop-off surcharge of GBP 400 per container will be applied.  

To ensure empty containers are returned to the correct restitution point, please see Import Merchant Releases and Empty Restitutions. Providing empties are restituted in line with OOCL instruction, no surcharge will be applied.  

Exception: Where Port of Discharge is Southampton/Liverpool or Thamesport and empty return is into an OOCL stack at Coatbridge/Greenock or Grangemouth, then no charge will be applied.     

The surcharge will be effective from 20th November 2013.    

Definition of Shipment Date for Rate Application Purposes: 

Trade Shipment date defined as:-
Asia-Europe On Board Date
Transatlantic Cargo Received Date
Australia & New Zealand On Board Date
Intra-Europe On Board Date
