One of the fastest growing markets for US exports is the Middle East. US exports are expected to grow 40% in 2006 to an estimated $37.9 billion from $11 billion in 2000. US exports to the United Arab Emirates will see a 91% growth in 2006 - that is a quadruple growth since 2004.
With the introduction of our new Middle East Asia Express (MAX) Service, OOCL now connects the US to the major Middle East destinations via our Transpacific Services transhipped from Singapore with highly competitive transit times. Five 5,000 Teu container ships will be deployed in this new service. Feeder service and rail serve major cities namely Dubai, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and more (see table below).
