OOCL's Trans-Atlantic Services move from Thamesport to Southampton in September 2006
ANNOUNCEMENT
In a continued effort to serve our customers better, please be advised that that effective September, all of OOCL's Trans Atlantic services currently operating to/from Thamesport for the US East, Gulf and West Coasts will transfer from Thamesport to Southampton. Services which will incur this change will be the Gulf Atlantic Express(GAX), the Gulf Mexico Express(GMX) and the Pacific Atlantic Express(PAX).
At the same time OOCL and the SLCS partners will move the Canadian Gateway Express ‘Route 1’ service to Montreal from Thamesport to Southampton. The ‘Route 3’ Montreal service remains calling in Liverpool.
The consolidation of services via Southampton Container Terminal (SCT) will enable OOCL to improve our performance to our customers in a number of different activities:
Increased sailings from one port
Flexibility to book cargo on different service loops
Larger pool of inland haulage resources
Connectivity for all destinations with the OOCL Express train service to/from Manchester (Trafford Park)
Southampton Container Terminal improved gate and terminal productivity
