Christmas Day holiday in USA is Tuesday, December 25. Canada celebrates Boxing Day Wednesday, December 26. North America rail carriers will operate limited train schedules from Sunday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 2. Customers should tender export cargo early, and plan for up to 48 hour transit delays for shipments moving in this time period.

New Years Day is Tuesday, January 1. North America rail carriers will operate limited train schedules from Sunday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 2. Customers should tender export cargo early, and plan for up to 48 hour transit delays for shipments moving in this time period.

Major BNSF rail terminals, such as Alliance (Dallas), Logistics Park Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles (Hobart), Memphis and Oakland are open regular hours.

Other BNSF rail terminals, such as Houston, New Orleans, Seattle and St. Louis are closed on the day of the holiday and open limited hours before and after the holiday. Complete ramp information may be found at BNSF.com.

Canada Refrigerated Intermodal Rail Cargo Embargo:

CPR prohibits the movement of refrigerated shipments through the Christmas holiday period. Export refrigerated shipments originating at CPR inland ramps are embargoed from Friday, December 14 through Thursday, December 27. Import refrigerated shipments are also embargoed from Friday, December 14 through Thursday, December 27.

CPR shuts down operations for approximately 48 hours Monday, December 24. CPR recommends refrigerated shipments be picked up from CPR facilities by end of day on Friday the 21st of December as Perishable Protective Service will not be offered at any CPR facility during the shut down period.
