Customer Advisory: Chinese Labor Day Holiday Period
Please be advised that Chinese Labor Day holiday is approaching and the Chinese government has officially announced that Labor Day holiday period will start May 1st and end May 7th. Locally called "Golden Week", millions of Chinese will use the week to travel domestically and abroad.
Workers will have 7 days off starting on the first day of May, but must work the preceding weekends of April 28th and 29th . Please note that the detention exemption remains unchanged for the first three days of May (May 1, 2, 3).
In order to ensure that our customers have the most up-to-date, correct and complete Vessel information, OOCL is pleased to announce that customers can now subscribe to our Vessel Information Board (VIB) e-mail service. The new VIB service automatically distributes the information you need to your inbox, where-ever and when-ever you choose.
OOCL’s VIB e-mail service http://www.oocl.com/hongkong/eng/localinformation/vib/ will provide information such as vessel names, voyage numbers, vessel on board and sailing dates for export goods, berthing terminals, free storage period of import goods and foreign exchange rates.
The VIB data will arrive attached to your e-mail in Excel format, which means that customers do not need to access the Web via hyperlinks for their data. Two Excel forms will be available: inbound and outbound; and customers have the option of subscribing to one or both files.
To ensure that our customers have the most-timely information, the VIB files will be sent to subscribers at 10:30am (Hong Kong Time) every day. Subscribers also have the option of receiving the VIB data on a daily or weekly basis.
