Customer Advisory: Mexico 24 hour rule - Update

Further to our advisory regarding the 24 hour rule filing and surcharges rule applied as of 1st September 2007 for cargo directly discharging in Mexico only, please note the following update.

Mexico Customs has announced International Cargo Agents (Freight Forwarders and Ocean Transport Intermediaries) are to submit electronic data transmissions directly through the trade union organization they belong to or own network system, but not through the ocean carrier.

Electronic data transmissions can be sent through AMANAC. For further information, please refer to Amanac's website http://www.amanac.org.mx/. Registration is required with AMANAC prior to any submissions.
