Customer Advisory: Port of Houston Update
A range of serious complications due to the lack of electricity prohibits the Port of Houston Authority (PHA) from opening for business operations Wednesday, September 17.
PHA is continuing to work with CenterPoint Energy to establish power.
The welfare and safety of PHA's employees, customers and neighbors is always its first priority.
PHA will update its status regarding business operations on the PHA Hotline at 713-670-2870 and on its Web sites www.portofhouston.com and www.phastatus.com after 3 pm
daily.
They have asked all available staff to report tomorrow to assist with the clean up and preparation.
Eagle Trans. Depot: Still without power. They did get a generator hooked up today that can operate systems and a few other services. They will have 2-3 persons at the depot on Wed. if any urgent matters come up that need attention. There is no indication when power will be restored.
RCS: They had restored enough temp. power to operate systems, phone service and a couple of computers. They are only dispatching equipment for emergencies and it is expected to be this way for the next few days. They expect to only have employees on site half days the remainder of the week. This is due to infrastructure issues such as lines at gas stations, lack of fuel, limited groceries av. And area curfews. If full power is restored this could change.
BNSF – Is operational from 7:00a – 7:00P however they are only operating off of generator power.
