Customer Advisory: Heavy Storm Activity Impacting Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky area Operations
Please be advised of the following developments due to tornados in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky
There were approx 60 tornados reported touching down in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky late yesterday and throughout the night.
Initial report is our primary carrier (IMC)has no electric power this a.m. currently working to setup emergency generators. We understand the BNSF ramp in Memphis may have been the site of a tornado touchdown. We are still waiting to be advised of any damages and further information. Intermodal Cartages reports no injury to staff in their Memphis or Nashville offices.
BNSF personnel are determining the impact and will continue to provide additional updates. At this time, the Memphis Intermodal Facility is estimated to reopen today at 4:00 p.m. C.T. Due to the debris at the Memphis Hub, some trains may be deramped at the Harvard, Arkansas facility. Specific information regarding trains deramped at Harvard will be distributed to customers through Customer Support Analysts.
BNSF will add one free day of storage to units in inventory at Memphis, Tennessee due to the facility shut down caused by a tornado.
