Customer Advisory: Hurricane Irene Update #2
OOCL is monitoring Hurricane Irene’s path towards the U.S. East Coast. Below is an update by service loop of potentially impacted vessel voyages by Hurricane Irene:
AEX - OOCL Antwerp (OAW) voyage 041 W: Departed Savannah this morning August 26th 0540. Expected delay to Norfolk is 24 hours due to Hurricane Irene with revised ETA to Norfolk is August 29th 0800 and to New York is August 30th 2400. Further update will be provided on Monday in regards to port operations in Norfolk, and to any expected vessel schedule changes.
ATX - OOCL Nagoya (ONX) voyage 023 W: Revised ETA to New York is August 30th 0430 and to Norfolk is August 31st 23:59. Further update will be provided on any expected vessel schedule change.
ATX - Cap Stephens (STP) voyage 020 W: Expected to completed vessel operations in Charleston at August 26th 1630. Further update will be provided on departure time from Charleston and any expected ETA schedule change Rotterdam.
GAX - Washington Express (WSX) voyage 041 E: Current ETA to Savannah is August 27 1800 and to Norfolk is August 29th 1900. Further update on any change of ETA to Norfolk will be provided on Monday.
GAX - Yorktown Express (YTX) voyage 086 E: Current ETA to Miami is August 27 0700. No expected impact to ETA to Miami.
GMX - Bonn Express (BOX) voyage 069 E: Current ETA to Charleston is August 30th 0800. No expected impact to ETA to Charleston.
SCE - Bavaria Express (BAV) voyage 003 W: Revised ETA to Miami is August 26th 2000. Vessel operations to begin August 27th 0800.
SCE –Holsatia Express (HOA) voyage 002 E: Revised ETA to New York is August 29th 1900 due to 57 hour delay due from Hurricane Irene. Further update will be provided on Monday in regards to port operations in New York, and to any expected vessel schedule changes at subsequent ports of calls Norfolk and Savannah.
PAX - Dresden Express (DRE) voyage 010 W: Revised ETA to Savannah is August 28th 0500. Further update will be provided on any expected vessel schedule change.
NCE - NYK Delphinus (NDH) voyage 023 W: Departed New York on August 26th 11:41. Expected delay to Norfolk is 65 hours due to Hurricane Irene with revised ETA of August 29th 0600. Expected delay to Savannah is 62 hours due to Hurricane Irene with revised ETA of August 31st 0700.
Please see below update on current terminal gate operation changes:
The Port of Hampton Roads in Norfolk has announced all marine terminals in Norfolk will close on at 1700 PM on Friday, August 26th. Dry containers will not be available for pick up after 1600 PM and refrigerated containers receiving and delivery will cease at 1500 PM.
The Port of New York/New Jersey terminals Port Newark Container Terminal and New York Container Terminal have announced a delayed terminal gate operation opening on Monday, August 29th at 0800 AM. Global Terminal has advised the terminal gate operation opening is planned for opening at regular time on Monday, August 29th at 0600 AM.
The Port of Charleston will not deliver or accept empty containers on Friday, August 26th. Terminal gate operations for receiving and delivering export / import loaded containers will continue to operate normally at this time. United States Coast Guard has closed the port for all vessel traffic this afternoon.

Rail customers should expect 24 to 48 hour shipment delays moving cargo to and from East Coast marine terminals due to approaching weather conditions from Hurricane Irene.
We will provide further update on Monday in regards to any changes to terminal, depot, and rail operations due to Hurricane Irene.
