Customer Advisory: Chennai Port Status Update
Please note due to high inventory and congestion at Chennai Port, Chennai Port Trust (CPT) has decided to regulate the flow of cargo movement in and out of the port to bring the situation back to normal.
In effect, the following trade operation adjustments are being made:
- Commencing from October 13th, 2011 at 0600 hours to October 17th, 2011 0600 hours (both days included) all export movement would be stopped. Focus will be on evacuation of the import containers at the yard.
- All vessel operations will be stopped at both terminals at CPT on October 13th and October 14th.
- Issue of FORM13 (Carting Order) will be stopped from October 11th.
The vessel berthing next week, however, is expected to be delayed due to the closure of the vessel operations from October 13th until October 17th.
