Customer Advisory: Trans-Atlantic Gateway Express Service Change of Marine Terminal in Montreal
Dear Valued Customers,
Please note the St. Lawrence Coordinated Service (SLCS) jointly operated by OOCL and Hapag Lloyd, will be switching marine terminals in Montreal.
The GEX 1 and GEX 2 service vessels currently utilizing Racine Terminal (Section 62) will be moving to Cast Terminal (Section 77). This change is required in order to maintain operational efficiencies in the Port of Montreal.
Cast and Racine terminals are both operated by Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership, with whom the St. Lawrence Coordinated Service (SLCS) has had a longstanding partnership. OOCL anticipates that the terminal transition will be smooth, and also that our customers will continue to receive the same level of service at Cast Terminal that they are accustomed to receiving at Racine Terminal.
Please note there is currently no change for the GEX 1 service vessels calling at Tremont Terminal.
The first SLCS vessels that will call to Cast Terminal in Montreal will be as follows:
GEX 1 Service:
OOCL Belgium 401 W / 401 E (SLCS voyage 01W51 / 01E01)
ETA: December 28th 2011*
ETD: December 31st 2011*
*Note ETA and ETD are 24 hours earlier than long term schedule to avoid holiday shutdown.
GEX 2 Service:
OOCL Montreal 205 W / 205 E (SLCS voyage 05W51 / 01E02)
ETA: December 26th 2011
ETD: January 05th 2012
Equipment Release / Return Location:
In order to facilitate the terminal switch, the OOCL empty equipment pool at Montreal Gateway Terminals will be gradually transferred from Racine Terminal to Cast Terminal. Please take note of the following:
- Effective November 28th all empty equipment with designated return locations as either Racine or Cast Terminal should be returned to Cast Terminal only.
- Empty equipment release locations designated as Racine Terminal or Cast Terminal will be from Racine Terminal until the equipment pool at Racine Terminal has been depleted, after which the empty release location will be Cast Terminal. We will keep our customers informed when empty equipment release will no longer be available from Racine Terminal.
OOCL sincerely thank you for your understanding during this transition, and OOCL will work closely with the Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership team to make the transfer as seamless as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact OOCL at 1-888-388-6625.
