CP Advisory: CP Update - CP Canadian Operations Resume
From CP Rail:
This morning, CP successfully initiated its Canadian network start up plan, and is moving toward a balanced operation.
The primary focus in the first 48 hours is to return to normal production levels. To that purpose, we have done things such as positioning the Engineering Services group to maximize their track maintenance time over this past week (and minimizing engineering work throughout the startup plan). This decision has meant that our Canadian train operations have been able to commence without the initial requirement for these services, allowing for a more fluid network. In similar fashion, all of CP's Canadian yards and terminals were made fully prepared for resumption of business, and all local service assignments have resumed, consistent with the scheduling on the LSOP. Border services are processing cross-border traffic in a timely manner.
Over the next week, the Customer Service group will be working closely with you as we recover and return to fully normal operations for your complete supply chain network.
CP's interest is aligned with yours. We will get back to a balanced operation and return to the performance and service levels you experienced before the work stoppage, and our goal of a balanced Network Operations is about the return to the levels of service you expect as soon as possible.
