Customer Advisory: CPR – Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Negotiation Update
Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) announced the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) has withdrawn their services to operate trains as of 0001 hours, Wednesday, May 23rd. The two parties continue to meet with the Ottawa government and mediators. Lisa Raitt, Labor Minister, is expected to introduce “back to work” legislation on Monday, May 28.
The in-gate embargo that began Wednesday, May 23, at 0001, is for cross-border cargo only: USA-CANADA / CANADA - USA.
All CP Rail terminals in Canada are open for all container pickup and return transactions.
All CP Rail USA terminals are open for import container pick up only.
Although some terminals are being picketed by TCRC, all terminals are open and are operating. Pick-up and drop-off turn times may be lengthy at terminals with pickets.
