Customer Advisory: New OOCL Chassis Policy – Los Angeles, CA/Long Beach, CA/Phoenix, AZ

Reminder, effective January 1, 2014, OOCL will no longer provide chassis for import and export shipments to/from facilities in Los Angeles, CA/Long Beach, CA and Phoenix, AZ metropolitan areas.

All motor carriers, either working as suppliers for OOCL or OOCL customers, must provide chassis for these shipments.  Chassis usage fees for Merchant (CY) moves should be billed by the motor carrier directly to their customer.

As a member of the Grand Alliance, OOCL encourages that motor carriers utilize chassis provided by the Grand Alliance Chassis Pool (GACP) in order to take advantage of the Pool start/stop locations.  If a motor carrier plans on using a GACP chassis for a shipment moving under an OOCL Bill of Lading, it must register with OOCL’s designated chassis provider, Direct ChassisLink (DCLI), as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition.

If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact your local OOCL Sales or Customer Service representative in the USA or Canada at 1-888-388-6625.
To use a Direct ChassisLink chassis, please visit www.chassislink.com select the Registration tab and follow the four steps to complete vendor profile and registration.  Questions regarding the registration process can be directed to [email protected].
