Customer Advisory: New BNSF Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC) Opens September 30
Please note the BNSF Railroad has opened a new intermodal rail facility, Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC). Intermodal containers will be transitioned to/from the new LPKC facility in 3 phases:
Phase 1: Beginning Friday, September 27, BNSF will move import marine terminal on-dock trains to LPKC.
a) For OOCL the first import shipments will arrive LPKC on Wednesday, October 2.
b) As an exception Long Beach Container Terminal import cargo discharged from the SSX service moves off-dock via Hobart/Los Angeles, and will continue to move to the BNSF Kansas City Argentine Yard for customer pick up in Phase 1.
c) Export shipments for OOCL move to the BNSF LAX off-dock ramp, and are not involved in the LPKC operation in Phase 1.
Phase 2: Monday, October 14, BNSF will move all Los Angeles Hobart ramp volume to/from LPKC.
a) For OOCL import intermodal on-dock train shipments discharged from the SSX service will then be moved by BNSF to the new LPKC rail terminal.
Phase 3: Monday, October 28, all other origin/destination traffic will move to/from LPKC including all export container traffic. The BNSF Kansas City Argentine Yard will then close as the intermodal facility.
