Customer Advisory: New OOCL Chassis Policy – Chicago and Ohio Valley

Effective April 1, 2014, OOCL will no longer provide chassis for import and export shipments to/from facilities at the following locations:

Chicago, IL
Cleveland, OH
Columbus, OH
Indianapolis, IN
Louisville, KY

All motor carriers, either working as suppliers for OOCL or OOCL customers, must provide chassis for these shipments. Chassis usage fees for Merchant (CY) moves should be billed by the motor carrier directly to their customer.

OOCL import shipments will continue to be de-ramped onto COCP chassis and TRAC INTERMODAL will be the OOCL designated provider. For export shipments, if motor carriers plan on renting or leasing chassis, OOCL’s recommended chassis provider for this location is also TRAC INTERMODAL. Motor carriers are encouraged to execute interchange agreements with TRAC Connect as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition.
