Safety Compliance for Dangerous Goods
Safety Compliance for Dangerous Goods
October 16, 2019

To ensure safety compliance, OOCL strengthened our Dangerous Cargo (DG) acceptance and container inspection policy by imposing additional verification before loading through selective or random inspections on DG and potential DG cargo.

It has come to our attention that some shipments of electrical goods, electric vehicles and other electrically powered goods containing batteries were moved as general cargo.  Any item powered by and shipping with Ni-HM battery, Lithium battery, Lead Acid battery should be classified as DG cargo.

Please provide OOCL with accurate and complete cargo information, and confirm all dangerous goods are properly classified, packed, marked, labelled, placarded and documented for safe storage, handling, and transportation according to the applicable international and national regulations.

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation.
