Port of Montreal Strike Notice - July 24
July 24, 2020

The Maritime Employer's Association has received a strike notice starting on Monday, July 27 at 7:00 am and ending on Friday, July 31 at 6:59 am.

During this time, the Port of Montreal and the three container terminals utilized by OOCL and operated by Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership (MGTP) and Termont will be closed with plans to resume its operations on Saturday, July 31 at 7:00 am.

MGTP has agreed to extend terminal storage free time from Monday, July 27 through Sunday, August 2. Vessel cutoff and Earliest Received Dates will be adjusted as needed.  For reefer cargo, the reefer monitoring charges will still apply for any reefer containers remaining at the terminal on Monday morning.

Both terminal operators have confirmed that truck gates will close tonight, July 24 at 11:00 pm.  MGTP gates will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26.  Termont gates will be open on Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Please make necessary adjustments for delivery or pickup of cargoes.  For more information, please contact The Port of Montreal.

If your cargo is being received in at an inland location to load outbound via the Port of Montreal, we would encourage you to have your truckers contact the respective local rail ramp in the event there are questions in regards to whether any existing rail reservations have been adjusted.

Please check OOCL.com for any additional updates or developments on this subject.
