Port of Montreal Second Strike Notice - July 31st
Further to the July 24, 2020 Maritime Employer's Association strike announcement, the Port of Montreal Checkers union's executive committee received an additional strike notice starting on Friday, July 31 at 5:59 am ending on Saturday, August 1 at 6:59 am.
Montreal Gateway Terminal (MGT) – Note that due to additional developments in regards to the labor situation in Montreal, MGT will not have an open gate on Friday, July 31st. Vessel operations will commence on Saturday. They have requested that to the greatest extent possible, that trucking community focus on picking up imports.
MGT plan to open its truck service on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 from 07:00 am to 15:00 pm. Please check the MGT website for specific trucking operation hours and vessel receiving details. www.mtrtml.com
The Ottawa Express 13W29 and OOCL Montreal 29W29 are planned on being worked, but actual departure dates and times will be determined based on labor situation at terminal.
