Port of Montreal Third Strike Notice update – Viau and Maisonneuve terminals only (August 3-7)
As additional developments on the labour situation continue to evolve, please note the below latest updates:
- Today, Friday, July 31 at 06:59 am the longshoreman's (CUPE Local 375) strike ended. However, The Montreal Gateway Terminal (MGT) and Termont Terminal remained closed in response to the confrontation which took place on Wednesday, July 29. Both terminals will resume operations on Saturday, August 1 at 07:00 am.
- In addition, the Maritime Employers Association has received another strike notice starting on Monday, August 3 at 7:00 am and ending on Friday, August 7 at 6:59 am. During this time, the Port of Montreal will be closed affecting Viau and Maisonneuve terminals only with plans to resume its operations on Friday, August 7 at 7:00 am.
Activities at the Termont and MGTP container terminals (Cast, Maisonneuve, Racine and Viau terminals) in the Port of Montreal are expected to resume and to be normal over this weekend, with operations commencing Saturday, August 1 at 7: 00 a.m. at the four Termont and MGTP terminals listed. Also, the truck gates are scheduled to be open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.
