Position​

Assistant Manager - GL, Financial Control​ Department


Job Location  

13th Floor, Saigon Trade Center, 37 Ton Duc Thang Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, HCMC, Vietnam

Job Summary

Responsible for all General Ledger and Tax-related activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger: Handle general ledger daily and closing tasks, ensuring books are timely and properly closed according to the global deadline with sufficient pre-closing review; and proper book record according to VAS and group policy:
          Capture GL entries, clarify and rectify GL entries in due course

          Review all accounts including Balance Sheet Accounts, Profit and Loss Accounts and intercompany report

          Revenue, Cost accrual are properly provided for and posted to SAP

           Perform necessary month-end closing review

  • Balance Sheet Review:

          Prepare schedules on all balance sheet items in standard format with meaningful remarks and follow up actions

  • Fixed Asset Control:

          Fixed Asset is correctly and on-time recorded

          Review the system generated depreciation for accuracy and correctness

          Obtain formal confirmation of physical existence of the Fixed Assets from concerned parties, to ensure the records in SAP agree with the inventory listing confirmed by Initiating Department.

  • Management Accounting:

          Review significant variances of actual against budget

          Follow up queries from headquarter on monthly performance, review capex/operating lease proposal and corresponding financial analysis

  • Reporting: In charge of all Monthly / Quarterly / Interim / Annual Report including group consolidation report.

  • Interim/Year-end Audit :

          Prepare audit schedules and draft financial statements for its appropriateness

           Follow up with auditors during audit fieldwork closely to address all issues and ensure audited financial statements to be finalized in accordance to the Corporate Financial Policies and adhere to the local statutory                   deadline

  • Tax and compliance: Handle all daily tax queries and Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly report for all types of tax (VAT / FCWT / CIT / VAT invoice / Freight Tax / tax reconciliation / tax audit, etc.) for offices in Vietnam

          Prepare relevant tax returns and ensure timely filing with Tax Authorities

          Ensure timely and proper settlement of tax

          Tax relating entries are properly recorded monthly

          Timely inform for any changes/updates about the local accounting standards and new tax regulation


Job Requirements:

  • Education background:

          Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Auditing. CPA certificate is preferable.

  • Experience:

          More than 5 years in Auditing and Accounting firms, multi-nation companies, foreign investment companies. Knowledge in shipping and logistics industry will be an advantage.

  • Skills:

          Advance knowledge in Vietnamese Accounting Standards, IFRS, prevailing tax regulations and be able to communicate well with state agencies and tax authority.

          Proficiency in SAP and Excel.

          Soft skills: Communication, teamwork, time management, innovation mindset, strong logical thinking, strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail, high accuracy in work execution in fast-paced environments

  • Language requirements:

          Fluent at English.

  • Other requirements:

          Ability to work under pressure, willingness to work overtime or on weekends when necessary, customer-oriented mindset and a proactive attitude.
